Terms of Service
These terms describe the arrangement between you and DeFi Checkup in plain language. This page is not itself legal advice.
The nature of the service
DeFi Checkup is an educational risk-analysis tool. It reads publicly available blockchain data for an address you submit and returns a deterministic risk memo under a published, versioned policy (SPA RiskPolicy).
It is not investment, financial, legal, accounting, or tax advice.
No advice, no fiduciary relationship
Using the service does not create any advisory or fiduciary relationship between you and us. We describe risk characteristics of positions under our policy; we never tell you what to do with your assets.
Nothing in a report is a recommendation to buy/sell/hold, stake, or unstake any asset, and nothing here is an offer or solicitation of any kind.
What the output is
The output is a deterministic risk analysis: the same input, under the same policy version, produces the same result. It is a statement about what our policy flags or refuses — not a directive to you, and not a prediction of price or outcome.
What a refusal means
When a report says the policy would refuse an exposure, that means our published methodology flags it under its thresholds. It does not mean the asset, protocol, or counterparty is fraudulent, illegitimate, or doomed — only that it falls outside what the policy will score or accept.
Data accuracy
Findings are best-effort, drawn from public sources such as DefiLlama and public RPC endpoints. That data can be delayed, incomplete, or wrong. Where data is insufficient, the engine reports the gap rather than guessing. Exit-NAV figures are estimates with stated uncertainty bands, not price predictions or liquidation quotes.
No custody, no execution
We never hold, control, or receive your assets, keys, or approvals. We never initiate, route, or submit transactions on your behalf. The service is read-only.
Service provided as is
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the service or any report — including trading or financial losses. You are solely responsible for your own decisions.
Acceptable use
To keep the service available for everyone, you agree not to:
- Scrape or submit at scale, or otherwise place automated or abusive load on the service beyond the published rate limits.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer proof hashes, or otherwise try to de-anonymize wallets or link addresses to individuals.
- Use the output to represent our analysis as investment advice or a recommendation to your own users or clients.
Wallet addresses and public data
By submitting an address, ENS name, or profile URL, you acknowledge that it refers to publicly available blockchain data and that you have any rights needed to submit it. We treat submissions as third-party-observable data and make no ownership claim on your behalf.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
Governing law and jurisdiction are to be set before public launch and must be confirmed with counsel. [Placeholder — verify with counsel.]
